Damsel in a Dress are one of the best dress makers on the high street. The care and quality involved in making their clothing is obvious the moment you see it. At work it is one of my go to brands, especially if a client is looking for something special. This is a quick round up of my four favourite Damsel dresses on the shop floor at the moment, all ideal for any occasions you have coming up this summer.
Last year John Lewis produced a range of vintage inspired dresses to celebrate the Partnership’s 150th anniversary. This year there is a new range of vintage style dresses and they are just as beautiful.
I fell in love with this Louche dress the moment it came into store.
John Lewis’ own brands are often overlooked, but the first pieces of the new season collections are pretty great. Practical, good quality with more than a nod to current trends.
Collection by John Lewis is the company’s work wear line, described on the website as ‘exhibiting clean lines, feminine silhouettes and wearable everyday luxe’. In store Collection is often dominated by suiting, in various forms, and blouses in various colours and sleeve length. However, the brand includes much of JL’s own accessories and shoes; from handbags with clean lines and sensible heels to beaded clutches and block coloured sling backs.
This is a week old now, but I really wanted to write about how impressed I was when I first saw the new collection Fenn Wright Manson in the stockroom. This is the second store I have worked in which stocked FWM, the first time around I always thought the collections were generally quite frumpy. The collection is full of very classic shapes, however the newest incarnation is really beautiful. The mint green, deep blue and pink colour scheme with clean white highlights looks amazing on the shop floor, it really feels like spring has sprung.
I love my job as a Personal Stylist and a big part of it is to try EVERYTHING on that comes into store. Trying on is only fun when you can share it – which is why I decided to start this blog.
Nothing ever looks the same on as it does on the hanger, so on here I will be posting pictures of the new pieces from a selection of brands and building outfits around them to help anyone looking for inspiration and ideas. I hope to give anyone looking over this ideas about outfits and the best brands to find what you’re looking for and how to interpret the latest trends.
